1860's Ball Gown (Private Commission)- This ensemble consists
of separate bodice and double box pleated skirt. The dress is constructed of teal
irridescent silk taffeta. Cap sleeves are trimmed with black jet fringe, exposing
double puffed undersleeves trimmed with black embroidered English Net. Bertha
of point d'esprit English netting, hand beaded with black jet beads. Evening cap
of black English net. Cap back trimmed with black embroidered organdy flounces.
Top trimmed with lavender silk velvet ribbon band, and adorned with purple velvet
pansies, beaded flowers, and peacock feathers.
